You may have seen the Scotland Tonight aired on STV on Thurs 4th May. “GP’s at breaking point” STV Player | Scotland Tonight Thu 04 May, 8.30 pm

The after effects of the Covid Pandemic have resulted in some patients waiting 2yrs for hospital appointments/operations. Unfortunately, we have no control over these wait times. This has put extra pressure on GPs to manage patient symptoms longer than in previous years. The GP workload has increased by at least 25%. In turn this means that we cannot cope with the daily demand. Our patients will have to wait longer to access GP services often 2 – 3 weeks. We understand your frustrations and know the service is not ideal however this is the situation across all General Practice. We are doing the best we can under extreme circumstances.

Where possible patients must utilise all NHS services available.
